Practical information about Geneva International Airport

Geneva International Airport is located on the outskirts of Geneva city center, around 4 km north of the city in the canton of Geneva. The airport straddles the communes of Meyrin in France and Grand-Saconnex in Switzerland.

This explains why Geneva airport is accessible from both countries. Geneva airport (GVA) on one side and aéroport de Genève (GGV) on the other. The French sector of the airport is therefore only used by passengers travelling to or from France. Please note that only direct flights to France need to be checked in at the French sector of Geneva airport, and that it is possible to exit directly into France if you have boarded at a French airport. Important to take into account for your transfers.

Numerous services and shops are available at Geneva airport. They are open every day of the year from 6am to 9pm. Duty-free stores and restaurants open at 5.30 am. and until the last flight for passengers in transit (midnight at the latest).
